Galilee Boat

Welcome to the Official Ancient Boat Website and Online Store

Make the most out of your visit to Israel, the heart of the Holy Land.

Enjoy your journey by visiting our Ancient Boat Museum and Tourist Center at Ginosar on the northwestern shore of the Sea of Galilee.

We’re at the epicenter of the ancient historical and holy site of Gennesaret, mentioned in Matthew 14:34-36:

“When they had crossed over, they landed at Gennesaret.  And when the men of that place recognized Jesus, they sent word to all the surrounding country. People brought all their sick to him and begged him to let the sick just touch the edge of hos cloak, and all who touched it were healed.”

The Legend

The Time of Jesus Revisited

We host thousands of pilgrims, history enthusiasts, tourists and travelers each year who come to see one of the most precious and biblical archeological treasures in the world.

Galilee Boat is a key attraction, as the 2000-year-old boat dates back to the first century; the time of Jesus.

Nothing was as timely and opportune as the discovery and excavation of the first-century boat.

Slightly over three decades have passed since the controversy, involving what the crew size and passenger capacity of the first-century boat, was buried once and for all.

Jesus sailed in the Sea of Galilee accomplishing most of his well-known ministries in an area Mark Twain described as an “exceedingly small portion of the earth.”

It’s why the first-century boat has a close association with Jesus.
